At the beginning of 2025, Attorney Kenneth Berger was honored to be appointed as a member of the South Carolina Access to Justice Commission. Established by the South Carolina Supreme Court in 2007, the Commission is dedicated to expanding access to civil legal assistance for residents with low income and modest means. Its mission encompasses assessing essential civil legal needs, fostering collaboration among stakeholders, supporting programs for self-represented litigants, and promoting education about the justice gap in South Carolina.
This appointment enables Kenny to contribute directly to the Commission's efforts in ensuring equal justice under the law. By collaborating with a diverse group of legal system stakeholders—including judges, court leaders, private attorneys, legal aid providers, and policymakers—he aims to address the significant civil justice gap in the state. The Commission's objectives include increasing funding for legal services, encouraging pro bono work among attorneys, and recommending innovative solutions to expand access to justice.
Kenny's commitment to the Commission aligns well with the mission of the Law Office of Kenneth Berger: to obtain full justice in life-changing injury and wrongful death cases. Through his involvement, he seeks to make a meaningful impact on the lives of South Carolinians who face barriers in accessing civil legal representation, ensuring that justice is attainable for all.
