On September 30, 2012, a Columbia, SC woman was shopping at a well-known retail outlet when multiple metal chairs fell from a display rack above her. The metal chairs struck her in the head and neck. She sustained a head injury from the blows. The woman - who had never before been involved in any type of personal injury case - experienced headaches, light sensitivity, and dizziness for approximately 10 weeks after the incident. Fortunately, her symptoms resolved, and she was able to return to her normal activities in time for Christmas.
As she told the defense attorney during her deposition, she wanted nothing more than fair compensation for her the serious effects the store's negligence and falling chairs had on her life for 10 weeks. She will never regain those 10 weeks, but she did receive a proper amount of money for the harm and loss she experienced as a result of her head injury.
