Hi, my name is Kenneth Berger. I'm an attorney here in Columbia, South Carolina, and I help people who have experienced some type of life-changing injury. I grew up in South Carolina before going to the University of Washington and Harvard University. When it came time for law school, I knew I wanted to come back and serve the community that raised me, so I chose to go to the University of South Carolina School of Law. Since my first day in practice, I've been helping injured people, and in 2011, I decided to open up my own firm. My practice puts special emphasis on cases involving traumatic brain injury, injuries to kids, drunk driving wrecks, and nursing home abuse. We also help families who are dealing with the loss of a loved one due to another's negligence or recklessness.

The rest of my family has "doctor" in their name, but I knew I didn't want to practice medicine. Instead, I always felt a calling to the law. I always believed in our rights, especially our right to safety, and I wanted to do my part to make sure that our communities and our state were a little healthier and a little safer. The best way that I could do that was to hold the rule-breakers accountable for the harm they were causing so that more innocent people were not hurt.

Whenever people hear about personal injury lawyers, they usually think, "Well, those folks are just in it for the money." While we certainly want to make sure our clients are fairly compensated, we also want to do more for them. We want to restore their dignity, make sure that they're treated with respect, and never want an insurance company to add insult to injury by treating our clients like liars, cheats, and fakers. We're not a volume practice; we accept only a limited number of cases each year because I want to know that with every client I serve, we will have a real impact, a lasting impact on their lives. A lot of my clients end up becoming close friends of mine. They stay in touch with us, and we remain a part of each other's lives.

So, if you're watching this video and you've experienced some type of life-changing injury or if you've lost a loved one, we want to be able to develop a relationship with you. You're not a claim number to us; you're not a file number to us; you're a human being. We want to make sure that you're treated as such, that dignity and respect are given back to you, and that meaning is given to what you've been through. To learn more about the ways we can be of service, call us today or request free copies of my books. I thank you for visiting our website. I appreciate the opportunity to be of service, and I look forward to having the chance to treat you like a member of our family.

Meet South Carolina Personal Injury Lawyer Kenneth Berger

Like doctors, lawyers have an oath. When I took the oath I pledged to my clients “faithfulness, competence, diligence, good judgment and prompt communication.” I also swore not to pursue any unjust lawsuit. The lawyer’s oath is not just a set of words, but a moral code. It is the code that guides my practice. Everyone who works with me shares my commitment. We are not just a law firm - we are a South Carolina personal injury attorney team.

Our job is to listen to your concerns, answer your questions, guide you through the process, and achieve the best possible outcome. We approach this task with a sense of urgency, and an eye toward results. As my staff and I often discuss, each moment in our office provides an opportunity to make a client’s life better. It is the reason we show up early, stay late, and devote our full resources to each case we accept.

Every day bad things happen to good people. Even the most upstanding and well respected members of our community are not immune from car accidents, work injuries, and fatal injury.

What Questions Should I Ask a Personal Injury Lawyer Before I Hire Them?

If you decide to hire a personal injury lawyer, here are questions you should ask them before signing any paperwork.

1. Do you exclusively practice personal injury law? Or do you juggle family law, criminal law, real estate closings, etc...?

2. Do you have experience with this type of case?

3. Will you be the actual attorney working on my file?

4. What resources will you devote to my case?

5. What steps will you take to make sure I am kept informed?

6. What results have you achieved for previous clients?

7. What do your previous clients have to say about you?

You may ask an attorney this, but make sure to do your own research as well. A lawyer may say their clients love them, but online reviews could tell a different story.
